Business man climbing up steps, symbolising the concept of success in think and grow rich 6 steps

It’s been about a month and a half since I last wrote a book review.

In that time, I’ve picked up a couple of books. Sadly, none of them really hit the mark for me, as I found myself giving up on them halfway through.

However, I’m not going to name those books or promote them with affiliate links here.

I have tremendous respect for authors. I believe that none of them set out with the intention of writing a subpar book.

And besides, just because I didn’t enjoy a particular book doesn’t mean you’ll feel the same way.

Rediscovering Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich”

That’s why I want to share this Napoleon Hill 6 steps desire example with you from a book I recently rediscovered – “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

So, I decided it was time to rummage through some books I had stashed away in the attic.

Before moving into my current place, I gave away hundreds of books, leaving me with a mere 50 or so.

Since I mostly read Kindle ebooks, I hadn’t bothered unpacking them until recently.

A Deep Dive into “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill

The first book I pulled from the attic was “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

Even though I had forgotten most of what I read from my first time with the book, I was smart enough to hold onto it – and I’m so glad I did!

I found many handwritten notes I had jotted down beside paragraphs and at the beginnings of chapters, complete with underlines and highlights in green and yellow.

Uncovering Wisdom in Chapter 2: Desire

Today, I want to share with you what I’ve learned from Chapter 2, titled “Desire,” about Napoleon Hill’s 6 steps desire example for turning desires into financial wealth and success.

Although these steps are primarily geared toward financial success, they can apply to any life goal you have!

This time around, the gems of wisdom on every page turned me into an active doer, not just a passive reader.

6 Steps Think and Grow Rich: Turning Desires into Gold

It inspired me to take immediate action and follow Napoleon Hill’s “Six Ways to Turn Desires into Gold.”

I hope it does the same for you. Now It’s Your Turn!

Napoleon Hill quote about conceiving, believing and achieving goals from think and grow rich.

Whatever the human mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

  • Note: The 6 steps listed below are paraphrased from Napoleon Hill’s original work in “Think and Grow Rich”.

Step 1: Define Your Financial Goal

Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient merely to say, “I want plenty of money.”

Be definite about the amount.

Step 2: Determine What You’ll Give in Return

Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as “something for nothing.”)

Step 3: Set a Deadline for Your Goal

Establish a definite date when you plan to possess the money you desire.

Step 4: Develop a Concrete Plan

Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and start immediately, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.

Step 5: Create a Clear, Concise Statement

Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.

Step 6: Read Your Statement Aloud Daily

Read your written statement aloud twice daily, once just before going to bed and once after waking up in the morning.

As you read, envision, feel, and believe that you already possess the money.

My Personal Experience with Napoleon Hill’s 6 Steps Desire Example

Now, let me share my experience of applying these Napoleon Hill 6 steps desire example in my life.

After reading through the steps and coming up with my answers, I made a written statement (step 5) based on them.

On a separate note, I made a detailed plan.

Creating a Visual Plan for Success

I grabbed two pieces of A3 drawing paper.

On the first paper, I wrote down the exact amount of money I want by the 3rd year from today and in return what services/products I’m offering to achieve it.

On the second paper, I wrote down a detailed plan to achieve it month by month for each year.

Staying Motivated and Tracking Progress

I attached both papers to the wall in front of my mini trampoline so I can see them every time I bounce!

I also took a photo of them and put it on my iPad so that I could read them aloud before going to bed and when waking up.

I read aloud the statement in my first paper twice a day at the minimum, but likely more.

The second paper is for me to track my progress each month to make sure I’m on the right track to reach my financial goal by the third year.
