So I tossed New Year’s resolutions out the wind ages ago, lured by the magical realm of 30-day challenges.

Just the other day, I shared that I’d be diving into two more challenges as we leap into a brand-new month.

I refuse to pen 100+ ideas merely for the sake of writing.

Instead, I’ve compiled a list of challenges I’ve personally undertaken.

Some have even become integral to my daily routine.

The ideas below are neither overwhelming nor rigid. Some may not pique your interest, and that’s perfectly fine.

Remember, there are no strict rules. For instance, you could fast for 1 day or 7 days.

1. Wake up at 5 am

2. Make your bed first thing in the morning

3. Set a bedtime and stick to it.

4. Write a journal

5. Write down all your expenses

6. Read one chapter of a non-fiction book a day

7. Play the piano for 30 minutes (replace the piano with a musical instrument you want to learn)

8. Research and add one book to your reading list

9. Drink half a gallon (2 litres) of water

10. Give up alcohol

11. Cook a meal

12. Give up coffee

13. Do fasting

14. Go without sugar

15. Skip watching TV

16. Take a power walk for 30 minutes without your phone

17. Say one thing you’re grateful for every time you brush your teeth

18. Stand in front of the mirror in the morning, smile and say: “It’s going to be a great day!”

19. Be the first to smile and say hello

20. Do 100 squats

21. Do 100 jumping jacks

22. Do the stomach vacuum (you can do it anywhere, sitting or standing)
